New Ideas Portal

We have introduced a new ideas portal where you can submit feature requests and ideas you think could be useful to you for us to introduce in the future. Or you could suggest new evaluations templates which you would like to see. You can also vote on ideas that others have submitted if you think they would be useful to you as well. In time we will also publish our development road map and post any technical updates on this site. You can also submit any bugs you think you find (if you do this, please put as much detail and screenshots as you can).

We are particularly keen to get any feedback on how we can improve the action planning part of EMS, so you can make better action plans.

To access it, log in to EvaluateMySchool and click on the lightbulb in top menu.

New Feature: Share Dashboard and Evaluation scores

You can now share the average scores for a dashboard or an evaluation with the schools of those groups, without sharing the breakdown of the participants scores. This allows a school to compare themselves against the average of everyone in the evaluation, or in any dashboard they are in, without seeing the individual scores for the other school in the evaluation.

Here is a quick video explaining this further.

But as a really quick start guide to enable this feature, all you need to do is going into the settings and either under Dashboard or under Control, click on Average Scores Visible to Participants…

Further instructions can be found on our support site:

HELP Where have my comments gone?

How you see your comments has very slightly changed. They are still on the same pages, and nothing has been deleted, but to toggle them on and off is now on the right hand side on the page.

here is where it used to be:

In addition, we received feedback that some users were forgetting to click the “save comment” or “save action” button once writing their comment or action. We have now made this button clearer and included a reminder to click the button; But don’t worry, this reminder can be turned off.

Commenting on dashboards and focus areas

There are now more places where you can add comments, files, links and actions to, rather than just to schools and individual statements.

You can add an item to a whole focus area. This could be useful if you wanted to comment on a whole area, rather than just an individual statement.

These comments are also available under the graph on the Analysis page.

Previously, you could only add comments against an individual school, but you can now add them against a whole dashboard or whole evaluation. This means that once a group of schools have completed their evaluations, a trust or group of schools can comment on the trends of the whole trust, as well as writing a trust wide action plan.

To do this, just check in the side toolbar what you are looking at:

Setting as not applicable and resetting scores

Sometimes a statement in your evaluation may not be applicable to all schools. You can now allow schools to mark these statements as not applicable. You can do this under settings – edit evaluation and where you edit a statement, you can set the switch to “allow score to be N/A”:

When a user comes to fill this statement in, they will now have the choice to mark it as not applicable:

Users can also now reset a score (and thus exclude it from the overall scores) by clicking on that score again. A school can reset all scores at once. To do this, go to settings – setup evaluation and go to the required school. At the bottom click on “reset all scores” button.

In a similar way, you can reset all scores for all schools in a dashboard, or all schools in an evaluation, should you have the correct permissions.

NB – this does not forget the previous scores, and these can still be viewed by looking at a statement’s history or by setting the effective date to a date in the past.
